The designer was inspired by the unique Li ethnic culture in Hainan and transformed the traditional peasant working tools—the threshing bucket into the background at the lobby reception counter, which is correspondent with giant cage like decorative lamp. The noted Li embroidery pattern is abstracted into modern decorative shapes and cleverly used on the flooring, wall-covering, screening, furniture and carpets to reveal a rich regional culture.

The lobby has a steeple top. Some marble columns as steady as the beacon towers are holding the bottom, revealing an aerial lightness while still being magnificent. The flying-fish decoration is swirling down from the ceiling at the center, adding a lively atmosphere to the overall space with its reflection in the water feature on the ground. The lobby and lobby lounge are set on the same axis and portray the magnificence and integrity of the hotel with the extension of lines.

The helix-shaped pendant lamps scattered around the specialty restaurant are paired with the blue chair and warm lighting to create a serene yet romantic surrounding. At the entrance, the Chinese style brush painting made from colored shells is mix-matched with the South-east Asian decorative pot and grass roof, easily combining the contemporary Chinese space with a natural oceanic culture. The Chinese restaurant has passed on a long-lasting Chinese style through the matching of wooden structured ceiling, different Chinese screens and modern Chinese furniture.
